Hero MotoCorp sold nearly 4.94 lakh motorcycles last month while as many as 74,547 scooters were retailed in Aug 2026
Hero MotoCorp has recorded dispatches of over 5.68 lakh units in Aug 2026, as per the data available on Vahan portal. The company posted a YoY growth of 19 percent as it had retailed 5.54 lakh units during the same period last year. The brand’s all-electric division Vida also reported healthy YoY growth of 38 percent as it dispatched 25,558 units last month. The export business faced a setback as Hero shipped 26,093 units of made-in-India scooters and motorcycles to various global markets in August 2026 as compared to 34,588 units in August 2025.
Hero’s domestic ICE business recorded dispatches of more than 5.16 lakh units in August 2026 and 18 percent YoY retail growth. “Splendor and the new Passion maintained strong retail traction, complemented by the Glamour X and the upgraded Super Splendor XTEC 2.0, while the Destini and Xoom series continued to lead the scooter category,” said the company in an official statement.
“The continued retail momentum augurs well for the festive season, supported by a more flexible supply chain ecosystem with its ability to respond quickly to festive demand. During the month, VIDA further strengthened its product portfolio with the launch of the VIDA VX2 Go in the 3.1 kWh fixed battery variant, expanding the EVOOTER range and offering customers an accessible entry point into premium electric mobility,” read the official statement from Hero.

Hero MotoCorp sold nearly 4.94 lakh motorcycles last month while as many as 74,547 scooters were retailed in Aug 2026. The scooters were in high demand as sales numbers increased from 52,204 units in Aug 2025. On the other hand, the motorcycle volumes were down in Aug 2026 as compared to Aug 2025 when the brand had dispatched more than 5.01 lakh units.
Recently, Hero MotoCorp launched the XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 200 4V Pro in Bangladesh, further strengthening its premium product portfolio. The Company also sharpened its focus on premiumisation as a core pillar of growth. As part of this strategic push, Anuj Dua was appointed as Chief Business Officer – Premium Segment with a mandate to drive the next phase of growth in premium mobility.

Hero MotoCorp registered sales of around 5.33 lakh units in July 2026 with a 19 percent YoY growth. In terms of overall two-wheeler sales (domestic + exports), it was pushed to third place by TVS Motor Company and Honda 2-Wheelers who occupied the first and second positions, respectively. However, as far as domestic market is concerned, Hero MotoCorp emerged as the biggest ICE two-wheeler brand with dispatches of 478,689 units.
