This article lists the 5 keenly-awaited electric scooters and motorcycles, slated to launch later this year in the Indian market

The electric two-wheeler industry registered an all-time high sales of 1.4 million units in FY26. The record sales figures have propelled several leading automakers to roll out multiple new models in the electric two-wheeler segment. In the coming months, we will witness the launch of several new electric scooters and motorcycles by key players in the Indian market. Hence, in this piece, we will talk about the 5 highly-anticipated electric two-wheelers launching this year in India.

1. Ather EL01

Ather EL01 will be launched as the brand’s most affordable electric scooter in the Indian market. Likely to be priced between Rs 1.05-1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), it will be launched around Oct 2026 in the country. Ather EL01 will be locally produced at the brand’s new factory in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Maharashtra. The EL01 was recently spotted for the first time during its test runs on the roads in India while the design patent has already been filed.

Ather has stated that EL01 will come with reduced quantities of expensive commodities such as aluminium and copper, which will subsequently result in a lower pricing. The EL01 debuted in concept form at the annual community day in Aug 2025. Some of the notable features onboard the e-scooter will include Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS), Ather Charge Drive Controller (on-board charger), AtherStack 7.0 with voice commands and 7-inch instrument console with TFT display.

2. Ultraviolette Tesseract

Ultraviolette Tesseract debuted in Mar 2025 as the brand’s first electric scooter in the Indian market. The company retails only high-performance electric motorcycles as of now. It was introduced at a price of Rs 1.20 lakh for the first 10,000 buyers, while for the next 50,000 customers, it was Rs 1.30 lakh, followed by the final pricing of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, due to multiple delays, the deliveries of the e-scooter have not commenced yet and they are likely to get underway in the coming months. Branded as the ‘World’s first electric scooter with integrated radar, dashcam and omnisense mirrors’, Ultraviolette Tesseract gets three battery pack options in the form of 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh and 6 kWh with range of 162 km, 220 km, and 261 km, respectively. The Tesseract can be booked at Ultraviolette website by paying Rs 5,000/- in India.

3. Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6

The Flying Flea S6 is Royal Enfield’s second all-electric motorcycle. However, unlike the C6 which is a neo-retro urban commuter, it is a scrambler model which has been developed for all-terrain riding. The S6 was showcased at the EICMA 2025 and Motoverse 2025 with a tentative launch timeline of 2026 end. We can expect the Flying Flea S6 going on sale by early 2027 in the Indian market at a price point of around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Though technical specs are not in public domain yet, we can expect the all-electric motorcycle to borrow the 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery in magnesium casing from the Flying Flea C6 with, more or less, a similar range of around 150 km on a full charge. Apart from the conventional home charging, it will also support fast-charging for intercity travels.

4. New Vida Electric Scooter

Vida will launch a new scooter in and around Aug 2026 in the Indian market. It is likely to come with a 3.8 kWh fixed battery pack while priced below Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The company already retails the VX2 electric scooter in a price range of Rs 77,590-98,970 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is also available with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model at a reduced upfront pricing of Rs 44,990 (ex-showroom).

For the smooth roll out of the upcoming affordable electric scooter, Hero MotoCorp is scaling up the production capacity at Sri City plant to 6.6 lakh units by 2027. Currently, this facility can produce 3.3 lakh units annually. The new electric scooter is expected to be a mass-market offering, aimed at TVS Orbiter, Bajaj Chetak C25 and many others. The design could be inspired by the existing models such as the V2 and VX2.

5. Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric

The Himalayan Electric was spotted next to the Himalayan ICE at the Motoverse 2025 in Vagator, Goa. The spy images show that Royal Enfield Himalayan electric will borrow multiple features from its ICE counterpart which includes round LED headlamp, front windscreen, rear view mirrors and single-piece seat. It also carries the front rack, albeit with a new design, as compared to the Himalayan ICE.

The Himalayan Electric could be offered with an all-LED lighting setup. Royal Enfield has used fin-type magnesium casing for the battery pack which, it claims, also helps in improved cooling. This type of fin casing has also been offered in Flying Flea C6 and S6. It is learnt that Spain-based Stark Future would be the main supplier of electric motors for the Himalayan Electric.
