Electric Two-Wheeler Sales Jan 2026: Top 10 EV Brands in India

The electric two-wheeler brands maintained positive growth in the first month of CY 2026, except Ola Electric which continued to slide downwards

The electric two-wheeler industry posted a healthy YoY and MoM growth of 24.77 percent and 26.09 percent, respectively, in the domestic market in Jan 2026. The overall sales stood at 1,22,812 units against 98,427 units sold during the same month last year. In Dec 2025, a total of 97,399 electric two-wheelers were retailed and hence the first month of CY 2026 started on a positive note for the industry. TVS Motor Company retained the topmost position with sales of 34,558 units in Jan 2026, followed by Bajaj Auto with 25,598 units.

The Hosur-based two-wheeler brand continued to be the leading EV brand in India with YoY growth of 43.82 percent as 24,028 units were sold in Jan 2025. Even the MoM sales grew by 38.03 percent as sales in Dec 2025 stood at 25,037 units. The recent launch of the Orbiter e-scooter seems to have strengthened the brand’s presence in the electric two-wheeler segment.

Bajaj Auto too retained the second position with 25,598 units in Jan 2026 sales as compared to 21,470 units sold during the same month last year. The Pune-based auto brand registered YoY and MoM growth of 19.23 percent and 36.17 percent, respectively. For those asking, it had clocked sales volumes of 18,798 units in Dec 2025. The launch of the Chetak C25 further helped the brand in consolidating its market share in the segment.

Ather Energy’s positive run continued with 21,999 units being sold in Jan 2026. Identical to its peers, the company recorded strong YoY and MoM growth of 67.97 percent and 28.97 percent, respectively. For the record, the Bengaluru-based EV startup had sold 13,097 units in Jan 2025 while the monthly sales numbers in Dec 2025 were at 17,058 units. Ather hanged on to the third position comfortably.

Hero MotoCorp’s electric arm Vida continued its upward trajectory as it witnessed a phenomenal YoY growth of 718.08 percent in Jan 2026. It retailed 13,302 units last month as compared to 1626 units in Jan 2025. Even the MoM sales growth was encouraging for the brand at 24.28 percent with volumes at 10,703 units in Dec 2025. It maintained the fourth position ahead of Ola Electric, which was once the undisputed leader of the electric two-wheeler segment.

Ola Electric is the only brand in this list to report negative growth as sales further plummeted to 7,516 units in Jan 2026 as compared to 24,413 units in Jan 2025. It saw a YoY de-growth of 69.21 percent. The sixth, seventh and eight spots in the list were occupied by Greaves Cotton (Ampere), River EV and BGauss, respectively. The ninth spot was bagged by E-Sprinto with exceptional YoY sales growth of 1526.40 percent as numbers grew from 125 units in Jan 2025 to 2,033 units in Jan 2026.
