The Vision CE, unveiled at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Germany, comes with a self-balancing system which prevents the e-scooter from falling on the ground
BMW Motorrad has filed a design patent for the Vision CE self-balancing electric scooter in the Indian market. The concept had its global debut at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Germany. The filing of design patent indicates that the brand is evaluating India as one of the potential markets for the one-of-its-kind electric scooter. However, it still doesn’t guarantee a launch in the country. BMW Vision CE comes with a self-balancing system which prevents the e-scooter from falling on the ground by keeping it upright at standstill.
The German luxury manufacturer described the Vision CE concept as, “a vision of the future of electric, single-track mobility in urban centres”. Due to the inclusion of a tubular steel cage and a four-point seatbelt, the riders don’t even need a helmet as well as protective clothing. The C1 scooter, unveiled 25 years back, is cited as the inspiration behind the Vision CE.
The metal cage in the Vision CE concept boasts of a reduced overall height and open, airy design which is complemented by the long wheelbase. The company has used coated aluminium for an exclusive technical touch. The combination of the basic colour matt white and the contrasting colour black is flanked by matt seat bench with integrated lettering and neon red accents on the graphics and other highlighted details.

BMW Motorrad has not released the technical specs of the Vision CE concept yet while touting it as an ’emission-free electric drive’. It is also not known that when the self-balancing electric scooter will enter production even in the international markets, leave alone India. Hence, we believe that BMW might make a big announcement at the EICMA 2026, which starts from Nov 3 in Milan, Italy.
As far as the Indian market is concerned, BMW already retails the CE 04 electric scooter in two variants namely Standard and Style Avantgarde at price points of Rs 15.25 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh, respectively. Powered by a 8.9 kWh battery pack, it has a range of 130 km on a single charge. The e-scooter is capable of clocking an electronically limited top speed of 120 kmph.

BMW Motorrad also used to retail the CE 02 electric scooter in India at a relatively lower sticker price of Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, it was discontinued earlier this year after doling out massive discounts of up to Rs 2.40 lakh to clear the existing inventory. Equipped with two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries of 3.9 kWh, BMW CE 02 has an iCAT-certified range of 108 km on a single charge.
