Is it the 2023 Apache 160 launch date? Or is it something else – something that we may or may not know about..?
Moments back TVS has dropped an invite for the virtual launch of a new product. From the mailer we get the following confirmation…
- That it will be a motorcycle (and not a scooter)
- It has been called as an ‘All-New’ product
- It has been defined as a ‘Racer’s Choice’ motorcycle
The launch date is 8th September ie tomorrow and the event starts at 12:00 pm.
No other detail or teaser has been shared by the company which leaves us to pure guessestimates!
And though TVS is calling it an all-new product, we believe this could be the launch of the new 2023 Apache 160 that was spotted testing recently. It fits the company’s theme where it promotes its Apaches on the racing pedigree.
The spotted test mule had a different exhaust unit and that suggests that unlike the basic ritual (when makers simply offer cosmetic changes on new year models), the 2023 Apache 160 could come with some mechanical changes as well.
And with the Pulsar N160 posing a serious threat to Apache’s dominance, there is a possibility that TVS may want to play a game of one-upmanship by increasing the displacement of the motorcycle to 165cc – a ploy the company tried with the limited edition Apache 165 RP (of which only a few units were offered for sale). This way they can increase the already superior performance and offer some premium components as well. But the problem here is that – it will increase the price of the motorcycle!

Other possibility is that there may be minor updates to the existing model to keep it fresh in the market. And the third likelihood is that this could be a different product – one that we may or may not have heard before.
