It was a busy launch day at the Yamaha camp as the Jap unveiled its most awaited 2022 R15 V4 and the R15M sports bikes.
As the ritual goes with Yamaha, the new R15 is also being offered in Monster Energy MotoGP Edition. It is based on the premium R15M variant and has been priced at Rs 1,79,800 (ex-showroom Delhi). That means it costs Rs 2,000 more than the Metallic Grey version.
R15 MotoGP – What’s Different…?
The special edition brings MotoGP branding on the fairing, fuel
tank, front mudguard, and rear side panels of the R15M outlining Yamaha’s strong Racing DNA.
The Yamaha R15M MotoGP Edition gets various exclusive features like anodized blue fork caps, golden color brake calipers, and carbon-like seat cover material with Yamaha logo embroidered on the pillion seat. It is also offered as quick shifter as standard.
The powertrain of the R15M MotoGP edition is similar to that of its standard R15. You get that brilliant 155cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine mated with a 6-speed gearbox that delivers 18.4 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm.
For the first time, Yamaha R15 has been equipped with USD forks in India and it also gets Bluetooth connectivity, new LCD cluster inspired from the might Yamaha R1 offering gear shift indicator, track, and street mode options.
Other features of the R15 MotoGP include assist and slipper clutch, Bypass type thermostat cooling system, Muffler with 3-stage expansion chamber, Deltabox frame, Linked-type Monocross rear suspension and Dual-Channel ABS.
The YZF-R15M is being offered with a Metallic Grey color apart from the Race-inspired Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.
