India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer – Hero Motocorp is all set to launch the BS6 iteration of its full faired Hero Xtreme 200S. In a latest development, the company has updated its website with the specifications and details of the upcoming version.
The city gadabout will continue with the same 199.6 cc, single cylinder motor that has been updated to meet the mandatory Bharat Stage 6 emission norms. Like the new Xpulse 200, it gets an oil-cooler which is the biggest change. The fuel-injected motor now produces a peak power of 18.08 PS at 8,500 rpm and 16.45 Nm of max torque at 6,500 rpm. This means that the motorcycle has lost 0.32 PS of peak power and 0.65 Nm of torque in this transition. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed gearbox.
The Xtreme 200S gets telescopic front forks with anti-friction bush, and a mono-shock unit at the rear with a rectangular box-section swingarm to handle the suspension duties. Talking of the braking set-up, it comes with a 276 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 154.5 kg, with a fuel-tank capacity of 12.8 liters.
The bike gets an all-LED lighting package (sans the turn signal lamps which come with conventional bulbs). The instrument cluster is a full digital LCD unit that supports Bluetooth and Turn by Turn navigation.
