Upcoming Xtreme 200S BS6 Price Revealed? Change of Strategy?

Speculatively leaked Xtreme 200S BS6 price hike is higher than expected but it will still undercut all its 200cc rivals quite significantly…

Hero MotoCorp has already announced that it will launch the Bharat Stage 6 compliant versions of three of its four 200 motorcycles. The Xpulse 200 ADV is already in the market; Xpulse 200T tourer and Xtreme 200S city sportster are ‘coming soon‘. Yes, that leaves the Xtreme 200R out of the line-up and it has been, kind of, replaced by the smaller but sportier Xtreme 160R.

The official websites of the unlaunched 200s show “BS6 model coming soon” tickers since the last few months. It appears Hero was busy launching upgrades and special models of its bread and butter 2-wheelers to latch on the festive demand.

BIG UPDATE: Hero & Harley Announce Official Partnership

The BS4 model was last sold at around the 1 Lakh price mark and it was placed under the Xpulse 200. However, now that the Xpulse BS6 costs Rs 1,13,730, there appears to be a change of strategy from Hero.

Hero Breaks RECORDS; Sells 8 Lac+ Units in October 2020

If this claimed price tag is true, the Xtreme 200S will sit over the sibling ADV, however, the Xpulse 200T should now form the entry variant in the 200 lineup. It is almost a certainty that the both the pending 200s will get similar engine tunes and the oil cooler of the Xpulse 200 BS6. Despite this price tag, Hero’s 200s will be cheaper than all its rivals like the Apache 200, Pulsar NS200 and even the Hornet 180!
