Late last year Kawasaki updated its liter class supersport machines – ZX10R and ZX10RR. Earlier this year it was speculated that these new 2021 models will come to India soon and one of them is finally here.
Through an official press note, Kawasaki has announced the launch of the 2021 Ninja ZX10R in India. Slowly the ZX-10R is moving towards the company’s supercharged H2 and there is a lot of that design inspiration in the 2021 model.
The extremely aggressively styled twin headlamps sit on either side of the RAM air intake which gives the motorcycle an ‘angry’ face. Kawasaki has integrated winglets into the cowling which has resulted in a 17 percent higher downforce than before. The rear seat has also been engineered to create a low-pressure zone behind the rider and prevent the air drag.
The 998cc, screamer of an engine, is now cleaner and adheres to Euro 5 and BS6 emission norms. It produces 203 PS of peak power at 13,200 rpm (213 PS with Ram air) and 114.9 Nm of max torque at 11,400 rpm. There is a new air cooled oil cooler which the company says has been installed as a feedback from the company’s SBK race machine.
The exhaust has been updated and the transmission has also been tweaked for better performance. The ZX10R features advanced Showa Balance Free Front fork, and horizontal back-link Rear suspension with Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion Lite. There is all round LED package with the headlamps being supplied by Mitsubishi.

This is the introductory price for this model. Though it has increased by Rs 1 lakh over the older model, it still makes it one of the most affordable liter class supersport models in India.

In terms of prominent features, the ZX10R comes with TFT color instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, Electronic cruise control, Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Launch Control, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function along with three power modes – Full, Middle, Low.
