Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) had launched the 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports in India last month. In a latest update, the company has informed that it has officially started the deliveries of the same in the country, just when Triumph announced its entry level Tiger 850.

The 2021 version of the bike was launched at a premium of Rs 60,000 over the predecessor. The first bikes were delivered to customers from the Honda BigWing Topline dealership in Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra along with BigWing Topline Levelle Road in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The Africa Twin comes loaded with features like five-stage adjustable windscreen, heated grips, cruise control, and a 6.5-inch TFT instrument panel that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from that, it also gets a 6-axis IMU, Honda Selectable Torque Control System, traction control, wheelie control, cornering mode, and four riding modes – Urban, Tour, Gravel, and off-road.

Mechanically, it has a BS6 compliant, 1084 cc, SOHC, twin-cylinder engine that delivers 101 hp of maximum power and 105 Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and you also have an option of a six-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) transmission.

How About an Africa Twin Based TOURER…?

While the one with manual gearbox retails at Rs 15,96,500, the DCT model costs Rs 17,50,500 – both prices ex-showroom pan-India. The new Africa Twin is available in two color options – Darkness Black Metallic (manual transmission only), and Pearl Glare White Tricolor (DCT).
