2020 Yamaha MT15 BS6 power figures are a smidgen lesser than the new R15, for some reason. Other specs also revealed…
Yamaha has unveiled the MT15 BS6 in India at an event last month but it kept its specs as a secret. However, in a latest update, its power output has been revealed through a leaked document.
According to the approval certificate, the Bharat Stage VI compliant Yamaha MT15 produces 13.6 KW of peak power at 10,000 rpm from its 155cc liquid cooled engine. This equates to 18.5 in PS. The current MT15 BS4 churns 14.2 KW or 19.3 PS of peak power at the same rpm which means the motorcycle is set to get a power drop of 0.8 PS or about 4 percent.
In comparison, the R15 BS6, which has already been launched, belts out 13.7 KW or 18.6 PS of max power at 10,000 rpm. This means that, MT15 is, for some reason, (very) slightly detuned as compared to its faired sibling. Torque numbers are not provided in the document.
As we have already seen the bike, the new MT15 retains other dimensions which include its 1335 mmm wheelbase, 800 mm width, 2020 mm length and 1070 mm height. It also continues to weigh 138 kg kerb.
