2020 Pulsar NS160 BS6 Launched at 1.03 Lac; Is 11% More Powerful!

New Pulsar NS160 BS6 price hike is about 10 percent more than the older model, however, the power gain is significant…

As we have been reporting, Bajaj has updated details of most of its Bharat Stage 6 compliant Pulsars at its website. In line is the Pulsar NS160 as well. The 2020 NS160 has also received the mandatory compliance which will allow it to continue sales in the market.

The 2020 Pulsar NS160 continues with the same 160.3 cc, oil cooled, twin spark, 4 valve engine which has now become fuel injected. The motorcycle produces 17.2 PS of peak power at 9000 rpm and 14.6 Nm of max torque at 7250 rpm now.

For reference the older NS160 produced 15.5 PS of power at 8500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. This means that the motorcycle has received a significant power hike of 1.7 PS which is a hike of 11 percent! It, however, peaks 500 rpm later in the range. The torque numbers have remained identical but they have also shifted by 750 rpm.

However, with all the added emission compliance equipment the motorcycle has gained 5 kilos of extra weight in the process (it is 151 kg heavy now). There is a subtle increase of 2 mm in wheelbase and rest of the dimensions remain identical to the older model.
