Pulsar 220 BS6 price increment is roughly 8 percent over the older model. There is a power drop but fuel injection should even out things…
Finally, on the first day of the BS6 era, Bajaj has officially launched the 2020 Pulsar 220 which now gets the updated Bharat Stage 6 emission compliance. Bajaj has continued with the same design which has been in the market for the last 13 years.
The new Pulsar 220 gets fuel injection and now produces 20.4 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm from the same 220 cc, twin spark, oil cooled engine. This is a drop of 0.53 PS of power from before. Maximum torque of 18.55 Nm has remained unchanged and it also comes at the same 7000 rpm.
Instead of the DTS-Fi acronym of the 2007 fuel injected Pulsar 220, Bajaj continues to call it with its conventional term DTSi. In terms of styling the semi faired motorcycle looks identical to the outgoing model and sports twin (projector) headlamps. There is an engine underbelly cowl along with a chunky upswept exhaust.

Rajiv Bajaj Calls Hero & Others ‘Greedy’; Fiercely Opposes BS4 Sale Extension
Bajaj has updated the front disc to 280 mm (the older model sported 260 mm) whereas the rear disc continues to be a 230 mm rotor. The new model now also weighs 160 kilos which is 5 kilo heavier than before. This will further hamper the power to weight ratio but we hope to see a better ride quality with the expected crispier throttle response because of the fuel injector.
