14% More Fuel Efficient 2020 Shine BS6 Launched at ₹67,857; Gets 5-Speed Gearbox

Honda Shine BS6 price increment is almost ₹8000 or 13 percent over the outgoing model. It gets a new engine and a lot of interesting features…

After introducing the new SP125 in this segment, Honda has launched the Bharat Stage 6 compliant version of India’s largest selling 125cc motorcycle – Shine.

The biggest change in the new motorcycle is the introduction of a 5-speed gearbox (the older Shine had a 4-speeder). For compliance, it gets fuel injected and comes with the silent ACG starter motor.

2020 Shine is equipped with what Honda calls as a ‘completely new 125cc HET engine‘, however, there is no mention of its power and torque numbers. Chances are that the SP125’s motor is powering the new Shine BS6 as well. For reference, the Shine BS4’s 124.73 cc (Bore x Stroke – 52.4 mm x 57.8 mm) was good for 10.16 bhp of peak power at 7500 rpm and 10.30 Nm at 5500 rpm. Honda claims a mileage hike of 14 percent for the 2020 Shine.
