Already Costly Gixxers Get a New Price Hike

Gixxer latest price hike makes it even costlier than before. This is the second price hike on the models within this year…

After unveiling them at the Auto Expo in February last year, Suzuki officially launched the new 150cc Gixxers in March 2021. Apart from Bharat Stage 6 compliance, both the Gixxer siblings – naked Gixxer and full faired Gixxer SF got no new features in this transition. Power and torque were also down by a wee bit.

With price hikes of around 10-12 percent, these 150cc motorcycles were already the costliest motorcycles in the segment (baring the Yamaha R15/MT15/FZX). They received further price hikes later last year. And this year, this is the second time Suzuki has raised the asking price of its 150cc Gixxers this year.

Here is the price increment table wrt to the original launch price of the BS6 model.

The latest price hike is Rs 2000 on both the models. The quantum of price increase since the debut of the BS6 variants is Rs 6900 for the naked model and Rs 7429 for the full faired motorcycle. This corresponds to an increment of around 6 percent, in around 16 odd months.

There appear to be no other changes to any of these models and they continue to be propelled by the same 155cc, SOHC, air cooled, fuel injected engine capable of producing 13.6 PS of peak power at 8000 rpm and 13.8 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm.
