Dominar Crosses 2000 Unit Sales After 17 Months; Beats Himalayan

2019 Dominar sales have been increasing every month ever since its introduction. In the process it has beaten Royal Enfield’s Himalayan in numbers…

Bajaj Dominar started its life at a very, very aggressive price tag of 1.36 Lakh ex-showroom for the non-ABS variant. However, for some reason, sales did not pick up as the company expected (or probably they overestimated the numbers). This could be one reason why Bajaj may have advanced the introduction of the new Dominar 400 which was launched earlier this year in April.

And ever since the new model’s launch, we have seen a consistent increase in Dominar’s numbers. Here is how it stands..

As you can see, April onwards Dominar has consistently increased its numbers. The 2044 units it registered in June 2019 are its best ever numbers in as many as 17 months. Yes, the last time Dominar crossed this 2000 mark was back in January 2018 (when it registered marginally better 2072 unit sales).

This also makes it the highest selling motorcycle in and around its price range (excluding Royal Enfields) which includes competitors like Duke 250, CBR 250R, Mojo and others. Against the RE’s stable, the 2019 Dominar has been consistently outselling the Himalayan ever since April. This trend has continued on to June with the Himalayan registering stable numbers of 1223 units.

Ahead of Launch Bajaj ‘Urbanite’ Spotted Testing Again

Very recently, Dominar has received a major price hike of nearly Rs 6000 which takes the price of the sports cruiser to Rs 1.80 Lakh (ex-showroom). What impact would it have on eventual sales is not known but if we look at the competition, Dominar still offers a lot more in terms of specs and features.
