Himalayan Sleet comes with new camouflage-pattern Grey colour; adventure accessories are no more mart of the package…
Royal Enfield Himalayan, the motorcycle which has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons, was introduced with fuel injection, BS4 compliance and a lot of part changes few months back. Siddharth Lal, in fact, went onto claim that the new BS4 model is issue-free which is not entirely true though!
However, we were surprised that Royal Enfield did not capitalise on the halt (to rectify its issues) and re-introduced the motorcycle in the same colours of white and black. We have seen various owners modifying their advs in other colours.
But recently, Royal Enfield did launch the new 2018 Himalayan ‘Sleet’ in India which comes in a new camouflage grey colour. Originally, as a Limited Edition, it was offered with the following accessories…
Himalayan Sleet Accessories
- Two 26 liters water resistant Aluminium panniers
- pannier mounting rails
- off-road style aluminium handlebar with cross brace. RE says this is for added strength.
- Handlebar end weights
- powder-coated finish larger engine guard
However, according to a report at Bikewale, the motorcycle is now made into a regular variant and is available at dealerships. The difference is that there are no accessories that are provided with it.
To promote the motorcycle, RE has launched three videos of it tackling various terrains…
Himalayan on Sand
Himalayan on Tarmac
Himalayan on Rocky Terrain
Apart from the colour, there are no other mechanical changes to the motorcycle and yes there is no ABS on offer yet which means the safer version, which is being produced for the export markets, will only be available in the domestic market from 2019 when it becomes mandatory for every motorcycle (over 125 cc)!
Himalayan Sleet Price
Himalayan Sleet | Rs 1.71 Lakhs |
*price ex-showroom
According to the report, Sleet costs Rs 3700 more which means Royal Enfield is charging a significant amount only for the new camouflage colour! If you are interested, you can purchase the explorer kit at Rs 31,900 extra.
