125 Duke Gets Massive Price Hike; Costlier by 33,000 in 16 Months

125 Duke latest price hike takes the effective increment from first BS6 launch to Rs 33,000 which is around 24 percent. This is simply outrageous!

What started as a 1.18 Lakh motorcycle is now a significantly costlier preposition. No, we are not talking about the 200 Duke (it was also introduced at 1.18 Lakh but way back in 2012). We are focusing on a fairly recent launch – the 125 Duke which became the company’s smallest and the cheapest motorcycle in the lineup.

Despite being lesser on a lot of counts as compared to Yamaha MT15, it (the 125 Duke) overshoots by a very big amount now. On the engine front, the MT15’s bigger 150cc motor produces 18.5 PS of peak power and 13.9 Nm of max torque. In comparison, the 125 Duke churns much lesser 15 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque.
