125 Duke latest price hike takes the effective increment from first BS6 launch to Rs 33,000 which is around 24 percent. This is simply outrageous!
What started as a 1.18 Lakh motorcycle is now a significantly costlier preposition. No, we are not talking about the 200 Duke (it was also introduced at 1.18 Lakh but way back in 2012). We are focusing on a fairly recent launch – the 125 Duke which became the company’s smallest and the cheapest motorcycle in the lineup.
125 Duke Latest Price
In a latest update, KTM has increased its prices yet again. Here is how it stands…
|First Launch Price in 2018||BS6 Launch Price (Feb 2020)||Latest Price (July 2021)|
|1.18 Lakh||1.38 Lakh||Rs 1.71 Lakh|
The latest price hike is Rs 9940 which is a big increase of over 6 percent. If that is not enough, you would be shocked to know that the effective price hike since the motorcycle’s BS6 debut is Rs 33,000 or 24 percent. This has come into effect within 15-16 months only ie in less than 1.5 years!
Despite being lesser on a lot of counts as compared to Yamaha MT15, it (the 125 Duke) overshoots by a very big amount now. On the engine front, the MT15’s bigger 150cc motor produces 18.5 PS of peak power and 13.9 Nm of max torque. In comparison, the 125 Duke churns much lesser 15 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque.
