Yamaha Fazer Launched In India Today

The Fazer, gets its DNA from the global Fazer series known for their sports touring, awesome looks. It has a “Look-at-me” appeal with the  triple macho design concept giving it a concentrated form with excellent ergonomics. yamaha-fazer-india

Just like FZ16 and FZ-S, Fazer carries the Monocross suspension to ensure agile running performance and handling. The placement of this model’s ‘MidShip Muffler’ toward the center of the machine gives it a good concentration of mass, exhaust efficiency and handling. The Fazer will be available in four color Electric Blue, Midnight Black, Lava Red and Flaming Orange.

Notable Changes in Fazer Compared to FZ 16:

  • Wind tunnel developed aerodynamic cowl and visor protect you from wind blasts on the highway. Enhance stability and riding comfort over long distances.
  • Riding posture designed to prevent fatigue and make long journeys more comfortable.
  • New design mirrors not only look trendy, but also add to safety with a better rear view.

F another 150cc. yar i dont know when these people will understand that we want bigger bikes, higher bhp, higher torque. We were always angry on bajaj that they launch 150cc then 180cc then 200cc then 220cc. But yamaha has gone one step up 150(R1) then 150(FZ) then 150(FZS) now 150 fazer. In INDIA we have bikes of price range 45000 to 1 lakh then a sudden jump to 10 lakh. where one should go with a budget of 2 or 4 lakh. Where are 250cc or 400cc bikes?

Chill Guys.. After a lot of response for FZ in indian market Yamaha has launched improved version with same engine. It will definitely rock the market.

Surely Yamaha will launch Big Engine Bikes in Future too…. I am happy to see Yamaha Fazer in India. They have removed the limitations of FZ.. like naked looks, light, uncomfortable seat for long drives..

You are right. Most bikers will never go online to blogs like this, and most don’t have knowledge about the 400cc+ bikes. They just see TV ads, and go to showrooms when they consider buying one!

Ya Vietnam has just only release a 135cc sport bike – the Exciter: http://www.yamaha-motor.com.vn/home/san_pham. So, good for you all in India :)

I dont think so that we will be able to see an affordable bike in India In coming 1 or 2 years. Reason being that the taxes o the higher end bikes are more in india.

LET ME TELL ALL OF U ONE THING i am a mechanical engg and i Work in a XYZ company(cant disclose the name) but! we are 2nd largest automobile manufacturer in world.
IN India homologation is a big issue.

I explain
In India we cant manufacture a 150cc bike more that 17bhp. And many more irrelevant laws makes it very difficult to manufacture a complete bike.
In Europe R15 is of 21bhp but in india it is just 17bhp.

But yamaha is driving all of us angry by producing bike all in 150cc segment that too with such high price. Atleast they should have given a rear disk in fazer for a chnage .

Talking about kawasaki ninja 250r it will be priced above 2 lakhs. But bike still dont worth 20k as it does not have a v engine, produces 27bhp( even RD 350 is 30 bhp) no up side down front shocker. These compnies are just taking advantage that we dont have any other substitute.

I have royal enfield thunderbird and 220 fi. Now have a budjet of Rs 3 lakh but dont have any bike in this price range. I would preffer a comet over ninja in term of performance.

Hello Jai,

You should go for YAMAHA Fazer… after all quality matters a lot.
You know Yamaha is no doubt are real bike designers in respect of quality, technology and durability. don’t get confused of the CC fact. YAHAMA has designed this bike with lots of thoughts.
Now a days every second guy you see on the road has a pulsar. Pulsar sucks!!!
I rode Fazer… ultimate feeling… ultimate comfort and ultimate styling… YAMAHA is a YAMAHA…

All the best…

Hi Jai,

Just one query, is the seat any different than the Fz16 or is it the same. I know this bike is amazing but I will be mostly accompanied with my better half on the bike. I’ve heard that the FZ’s pillion seat is uncomfortable. What do u say abt fazers?

Reply

28 Lokesh July 17, 2009 at 12:43 am

Hi Avi,

I rode both fz-s and recently Fazer. the pillion seat looks smaller but its comfortable. i took the test ride with my friend and we tested the comfortness of the pillion seat… no problems. The seat looks stepped up but adds glory to the looks…
also note 1 thing… every manufacturer can develop more CC bikes… but it all depends upon how they are using it… So the conclusion is that just a bike having 220cc engine cannot be considered powerful.

Hi Guyz,

I can understand some of u guys are getting upset with Yamaha as they are launching bikes with just 150 CC. I own a ported RX 135 and RD 350 and I wish Yamaha could act according to loyal yamaha fans like us who are looking for performance efficient bikes. But try and understand the market stratergy here. Yamaha is trying to capture the Indian market first. Not many people go for a performance bike. (No wonder Hero honda splender was a huge success in our country). Yamaha was not able to capture the indian Market with bikes likes Cruz R & Libero. That’s why they are launching the younger sibling of Fazer’s & R1. I am sure once they able to grab a good share of the market they will surely bring in the 400 and 600cc’s to India. That is exactly what Here honda & Bajaj did before. They first lanched Splendor’s and Pulsor’s to capture the Indian market and now they are launching bikes around 250 CC. Since Yamaha have a worthy 400 and 600CC’s suited for indian market I believe we (Loyal and die hard Yamaha fans) will get our share of powerful bikes.

There will always something good coming out, no point in regretting if u’ve already bought something. Right now Fazer is no doubt one of the best 150 cc bikes in India. The thing is, the more you read all over abt bikes the more you will get confused. Just shortlist the bikes you like , go to the respective showrooms , have a close look, take a test ride and book whichever u love.

Otherwise its the regular – light bill/ration card/pan card thing. As you said u’ve just made your driving license , I believe the same docs will be sufficient.

Hi All,

I am using Yamaha Fazer for the past 2 months and has done my 2nd service. I have done 3500 Kms as of now. The bike is smooth, sexy, smart and stable. The head lights are very power full and trust worthy even at foggy hairpins. Tyres are excellent and can withstand a 60 degree inclined turn at 90 kms/hr. Thhe top speed I have achieved as per date is 128 Km/Hr. Vehicle is much smoother after 2nd service. Milege after 2nd service is 38 @ city and 45 @ highways which is not bad for a 153 cc one.

Defect I faced was for the fuel indicatior. Initiially the indicatior was showing reserve even at Full tank! But it got rectified in the service. Yamaha could have made the engine 200CC so that no one will ever dare to say a bad comment about it. I strongly recomment this bike for touring enthusiasts. DO go for a long drive [>150 Kms] here you will know the real pleasure of it. Admiration [especially from hot girls]are guaranteed for Fazer [personally tested and verified !].

“Have a happy N safe journey” :)

Hi Guys,

I am happy to convey that Yamaha is planning to release a 200CC+ engine in FZ and Fazer. If its 80 since it can’t withstand the air pressure. Handles won’t turn much and causes city driving tough.

I request Yamaha to redesign it so that we can ride bikes for long.

Thank you all for you time on my thoughts,
Nikhil Unnikrishnan.

Dear All,

I have done 6000km on fazer bought in sept 2009.
All those who have opted for Fazer hold ur hearts!……………………….

milage – 35kmpl if u r rocker like me (i avg 90kmph)
Power mongers – this beast can beat all ur karizmaz & pulsars anywhere.. 0 to 100 in 10secs flat (i checked it myself)

what is amazing is pickup at even at speeds of 70kmph n above it jolts n move ahead like a bolt on a slightest twist of wrist.

pure pleasure & getting better

once u know ur fazer….nothing can stop u
tremedous handling even at sharp curves!!!!!

all fazer pickers Enjoy !! n welcome to YAMAHA CLUB.

GOOD LUCK N GODSPEED!!

itz well known that yamaha is far far better than bajaj and hero honda companies in the matter of itz engine, confortness and also in style.
i probably choose fazer and now i am using it….
itz really comfortable than pulsar as i recently used pulsar 150cc.
Now i’m happy with my choice that i choosed fazer.

dear Dk,
better to go for Yamaha fazer. its a damm good one.it can beat any other bikes on highways. i checked it for myself with apache 180, 500cc royal enfield, pulsar 180, karizma, and even many times with ambulances.
many of my friends have reported a tyre wear in it in just 5 months. but trust me mine is 11 months old baby and no such problems….
its smooth to take on the other vehicles even at 100 km/hr…

Yamaha Fazer 153 is an awesome performer, highly stable and comfort, excellent riding quality with reasonable 40Kmpl mileage.
A fitting answer for its critics and other maniacs. In love with my ‘Black Beauty’.
