SPIED: Is Bajaj Preparing a 150-200cc ADV; Mysterious Mule Spotted

Is that Bajaj Pulsar ADV? Has it got something to do with Bajaj’s CNG motorcycle? This mysterious test mule has got us scratching our head…

So, not only is Bajaj reworking its existing line-up of motorcycles, it is also trying to venture in new segments. At least this is what a mysterious spotting (of a test mule) suggests.

An online user has posted images of a completely camouflaged unknown motorcycle captured somewhere in Ahmadabad. Quickly going through the various details, this appears to be a Bajaj. There is no concrete giveaway, but that Maharashtra test number plate, signature twin tail lamps, rear tyre hugger design and a few other aspects are ample hints, hence, we will assume this to be an upcoming Bajaj.

Next question – What?

The overall silhouette suggests that this motorcycle is destined to be an Adventure-like bike. The air cooled engine, kick starter, thin (possibly 17 inch) rear tyre suggest that this will be a small capacity motorcycle – possibly a 150-180cc type. I tried to connect that engine with any of the existing Pulsars, or even other motorcycles, however, this appears to be different.

The front appears to have higher suspension travel and those look like telescopics under that camouflage. There may be a tiny beak and the tank is humped. There is a long seat that overlaps with the fuel tank.

What exactly is cooking can not be ascertained at this point but this has raised our hopes of Adventure-like motorcycles from Bajaj. If you remember, Bajaj introduced Pulsar AS series around 2015-17 times where AS stood for Adventure Sports. The AS series were simply fairing snapped on existing Streetfighter motorcycles and they did not work.

In 2017 Bajaj discontinued the AS series, however, it promised that this will return in a more purposeful avatar in the future. Is this the Pulsar AS series motorcycle? Does it have any relation with the CNG tech Bajaj is working on? If you have any clue do let us know…
