Pulsar NS400 price is the biggest USP and it is the most affordable 40 PS bike, possibly ever! Here are all the details of the Streetfighter…
Back in 2013, Bajaj debuted the KTM 390 Duke in India at a price tag of 1.8 Lac. You got astonishing performance, extremely aggressive styling along with loads of features at real luring prices – that took the biking creed by surprise. After a decade, the Pune based maker has got everyone excited again – this time with its own brand – Pulsar.
Bajaj has officially launched the biggest ever Pulsar NS400 with a suffix Z. Through various spy pics and details that were consistently leaking on the internet we already knew how it will look. Like the Dukes – 125, 200, 250 as well as the 390, Bajaj is wanting the Pulsar NS range to look similar and hence the 400 can easily be called as a slightly grown-up design of the NS200.
There is an aggressive looking headlamp upfront, followed by golden colored 43mm chunky upside down forks and a fat 110mm front tyre. As we move a little further you have an NS200 inspired fuel tank but with longer and chunkier tank extensions. All of this gives the streetfighter a macho look.
The NS400 comes equipped with the 373cc single cylinder, DOHC engine from the Dominar 400 and churns 40 PS of peak power at 8800 rpm and 35 Nm of max torque at 6500 rpm. These are exact same specs as the Dom, however, there will definitely be tuning related changes for the Streetfighter application.
In terms of features the Pulsar NS400 comes with Ride by Wire, Assist and Slipper clutch, LED projector headlamp, large lightening-bolt like DRLs and a big 320 mm front disc (and a 230 mm rotor at the rear). There are four ECU ride modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road.
Then you also get a colored full digital LCD instrument console that comes with smartphone pairability via Bluetooth. This means you have the whole suite of feature like call and SMS alerts, music control, call accept and reject, mobile battery and network status apart from navigation control as well as lap timer.

Bajaj has killed it with the extremely aggressive pricing of its biggest-ever Pulsar. Not only is it roughly 45,000 cheaper than Dominar 400, it is the cheapest 40 PS bike in the country today. However, do note that this price is introductory for a limited period.
There are four colors on offer – Glossy Racing Red, Brooklyn Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Pewter Grey. Bookings are open at a pre-payment of Rs 5000 only. I will be riding the newest Pulsar on the 5th but media reviews will be allowed only around 11th. Stay tuned…
