Yamaha R15 and R3 70th Anniversary editions come with cosmetic enhancements in a new dual-tone white and red paint scheme

Yamaha has rolled out the special editions of the R15 and R3 to commemorate the brand’s 70th anniversary. Both the limited edition models have been introduced in the Brazilian market. While the R15 special edition will be limited to 1200 units, the R3 special edition can only be availed in 600 units. Yamaha R15 and R3 70th Anniversary editions come with cosmetic enhancements at price points of BRL 24,090 (Around Rs 4.69 lakh) and BRL 37,790 (Around Rs 7.36 lakh), respectively.

Yamaha has presented the 70th Anniversary editions in a new dual-tone white and red paint scheme. Just so you know, the Japanese brand switched to the blue colour during the late 90s while white with red accents used to be its official factory racing colours before that. The white and red combination was visible on Yamaha’s early Grand Prix bikes in the era of 60s.

The R15 and R3 70th Anniversary editions also get Speed Block graphics in the red shade as they compliment the white body colour. Well, identical to the red and white colour scheme, the history of speed block graphics go a long way back to the 1970s. Yamaha states that these graphics represent speed and motion even when the bike is at standstill.

The red colourway, apart from the Speed Block graphics, is also visible on the fuel tank and windscreen. As often seen with special models, the R15 and R3 also flaunt a commemorative 70th-anniversary logo on the fuel tank. Both the motorcycles remain unchanged in terms of features. They continue to carry the sculpted fuel tank, low-set handlebar, large windscreen, split seats and upswept exhaust.

Yamaha R15 Anniversary Edition boasts of a blacked-out front suspension. On the other hand, Yamaha R3 Anniversary Edition is equipped with USD front forks in a golden finish. Both the motorcycles sit on a deltabox frame with dual-channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, USB Type-A port, and monoshock rear suspension as standard fitments.
