Greetings! We all know that there have been a news around for a while that Yamaha will launch scooters soon in to the market. Yamaha has decided now that they will launch scooters in to the market by 2012. This is probably one of the biggest news for the people wanting Yamaha to diversify in to new products. It would be also interesting to see the market reaction for Yamaha scooters.
Yamaha two said that it has decided to launch their scooters by 2012. Mr. Jun Nakata (Chief Sales officer, Yamaha Motors) said that the company is probably looking to expand their reach in the market by launching scooters. He further said that they have scooter in other overseas markets like US and Europe and they are in the process of studying the Indian market. However it is confirmed that the company will launch scooters soon, he reassured.
Another Yamaha official said that Yamaha India would roll out scooters by 2012 which will either be produced at one of their two facilities in Faridabad or Surajpur. We at Bike Advice have already rolled out news which confirms an investment of $10 million which will be used for expansion and venturing in to scooter segment. The investment will also be used to expand the production facility of scooters to 1 million units a year, Mr. Suzuki said.
All in all, it is crystal clear that Yamaha has made plans and decided to launch scooters in to Indian market by 2012. The Yamaha plan is to conquer most of the markets and become one of the most scouted for brands in India. The company has set itself a task to attain higher production levels even though there is no news about setting up of new plants.
