Yamaha has sent us an invite for a press conference in Mumbai on May 7, 2015. The invite goes on as the usual “Join us as Yamaha will be unveiling the next phase of its journey in India”. The last time Yamaha sent us an invite like this was when they launched their new 125 cc commuter motorcycle, Saluto. The event will be attended by Mr Masaki Asano, Managing Director and Mr Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd.
The company claims that they will launch a new style revolution on Indian streets. And going by what we see, it appears to be a new scooter which possibly may sport a 125cc motor. No, from no angle does it look like the awaited R25/R3!
Yamaha was caught testing the Nozza Grande based scooter back in February in India. The design was different from the original Nozza which is sold in Vietnam and the Indian version may carry the front apron grille like the one teased on this invite mailer! If it indeed is the same scooter, we can see some fireworks for scooter aficionados!
However, for all of us motoring souls, the agonizing wait for the R25/R3 may continue…
