Yamaha Aerox Smart Key features include keyless Ignition, more convenience, theft prevention and an interesting ‘Answer-Back’ functionality…
There have been only a handful of events in the history when scooters have called for excitement. Yamaha’s Aerox is one of them! The scooter, which shares its engine with the immensely popular R15, has garnered a fair bit of fanbase already.
In order to spice up things further, Yamaha has added an interesting feature – Smart Key, to the scooter. This comes on a new variant which is called as Aerox S (S here probably stands for Smart Key).
Aerox Smart Key Features
The biggest feature of the scooter is that you can start it without the need to insert the key in the keyhole. Once the key is in close proximity (for example in your pocket) you can simply change the ignition knob to the ‘ON’ position and press the Starter button to bring the scoot to life.
This is definitely very convenient and saves the hassle of inserting the manual key to start your scooter like you generally do on conventional 2-wheelers. Yamaha says that this also enhances the safety quotient and prevents unauthorized access as well as theft of the scooter.
Aside this, there is an ‘Answer-Back’ feature which lights up the indicators with a buzzer sound when a button is pressed on the key fob – a nifty feature to find your scoot in a busy parking space of a mall or cinema hall.
