SPIED: More Powerful Xpulse 210 Spotted; Will Use Karizma’s Engine

Xpulse 210 spy pics have come up on the internet. The bigger ADV will produce more power and torque from the Karizma’s bigger engine…

If you are into dual sport motorcycles then I am sure you must have seen the Hero Honda Impulse plonked with (older) Karizma’s engine. Many have done that and the idea was simple – to have more firepower – along with that off-road capability.

Many years later Hero came up with its own version Xpulse – which is a 200cc ADV with a lot of capability. And that is the only 200 that has worked for the company so far. Bikers here are also impressed with the rough road tackling capability of the motorcycle but again it is the same gripe – they need more power! And like every good company, Hero is listening!

Hero MotoCorp is working on not one but two ADV motorcycles and for the sake of clear understanding let us denote them under the same Xpulse moniker (their final market names may be different). One of them with be the real mid-sized near 400cc Xpulse and the other one would be this – the Xpulse 210 – that you see on this page!

The source mentions this as the Xpulse 400 but for some reason the engine appears to be closer to the Karizma 210 – at least in outer appearance. That leads me to believe that this is the speculated Xpulse 210. As you can clearly make out – the idea is to have the technically more advanced motor of the Karizma do duty on the prowess of Xpulse.

What Xpulse 210 stands to gain over current 200?

Most importantly power! Xpulse 210 could be around 5-6 PS more powerful than the existing model and may generate about 3 Nm more torque – if we directly compare the specs of Karizma and Xpulse. That it will be liquid cooled and will have more bells and whistles is a given. But a near 25 PS Xpulse sounds an ideal recipe for success – for all ADV lovers.

The current Xpulse is already a very capable motorcycle, however, it feels underpowered on highways…

This motorcycle looks more complete than before as we can see knuckle guards, flyscreen and final body parts (may be they are even painted red). Addition of luggage carriers (which may be promoted under the company’s moniker) is another hint of the completeness of the product.

That front rubber appears to be a big size – most probably the same 21 incher along with long travel suspension. Hero seems to be carrying forward the same recipe as the current Xpulse – which is already very capable.

Looking at the product it is fair to assume that these may be final trials of the motorcycle as Hero may be targeting the festive season for its final showdown. What will be interesting is if Hero keeps both the models – the 200 as well as the 210 or these are final few days of the older 200!
