RE’s Biggest Cruiser Spotted Testing Again; First RE with USDs

Upcoming RE 650 cruiser appears to be the premium most motorcycle that the company is testing on the roads in India…

Royal Enfield first made its intentions of venturing into the big cruiser segment when it showcased its KX Bobber in 2018. In September, a mysterious mule was spotted testing confirming that development of a big cruiser model is underway.

In a latest, the same motorcycle has been spotted at an unknown location down South. This provides a pretty good view of the dimensions of the motorcycle. It sports a twin cylinder engine, which, in all probability, is the same motor from the 650 Twins.

This handsome 650 cruiser is running on alloy wheels, upside down front forks (a first for the company) and chrome laden twin exhaust canisters. It has a low-set seat with a typical cruiser-like stretched-leg, upright seating posture.

It is also expected to carry smartphone connectivity suite which is coming on the Meteor 350. Like most of its other motorcycles, this RE 650 cruiser follows the conventional cruiser styling, without any extravagant elements but looks real handsome.

There will be application-related changes to the tune of the 648cc parallel twin motor. For reference, it currently produces around 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of max torque. This will be the costliest Royal Enfield in India and expect it to start at around that Rs 3 Lakh price tag. Considering the pipeline, we expect its market launch sometime in 2021, most probably the second half.
