3. KTM RC 390:
- Launch: September 9, 2014
- Exp. Price: 2.4 lakhs (on road)
- Competition: Kawasaki Ninja 300
The most awaited bike of the year, the RC 390 is a potent racer which oozes of its Moto3 DNA. The 373.2cc engine from the Duke 390 produces power equivalent to 43 horses and can make almost every other bike in and a little above its category eat dust! Not that we have ridden the bike yet, but we are basing our words on the phenomenal performer Duke 390’s motor. Not for the faint hearted and not for daily commuting, the RC390 would be ‘fun’ on the track!
This bike does best what it is actually meant to do, RACE! The only thing which might be a sore point is that not everyone will like the head lamp layout, but hey, this bike was not made to look pretty but to woosh the sadness out of your life and paste an ear to ear grin!

5. Hero MotoCorp Splendor Pro Classic:
- Launch: Sometime Within this month
- Exp. Price: 54,000-55,000

A 97cc café racer anyone? So this is Hero’s answer to RE’s Continental GT? Not exactly. While the CGT is targeted at a much more elite class, the Splendor Pro Classic aims to introduce the concept of café racers to a much wider audience. Yes, you may not be able to even hit a ton, forget about being the fastest to it, but you will definitely be able to know what the whole idea of ‘Cafe Racers’ was, well at least the styling part of it.
