Honda is the undisputed leader in scooter sales in India and by a massive margin. However, for the last few months scooter sales have seen consistent falls. Other makers have also upped their antes in this very segment. Its last two launches – Cliq and Navi have also bombed and that has impacted the brand.
However, Honda appears to be preparing a new product, most probably for our market in the scooter segment. It has patented this conventional-looking product in India.
Upcoming Honda Scooter
This patent filed on 18th of October 2021 is of an ICE scooter which, visually, is not similar to any scooter model, domestic and/or international that we could search.
This leads us to believe that this scooter could be an India-specific model which may be slotted in the entry-level 110-125 cc space. It does not look like a big 150!
The scooter appears to have simple, conventional styling with round rear-view mirrors, wide front apron with integrated headlight & indicators, single-unit stepped seat, low slung exhaust and integrated single pillion grab-rail.

If we have to speculate, this may be a 125cc product which could be placed slightly under Activa 125 and form a new entry level for the company in this very competitive segment.
