Hero MotoCorp has a big lineup of premium motorcycles waiting to be launched – apart from the Harley Davidson X440 that it has made for the American brand. This includes new models in the 400cc space – that may use the 440 platform of the Harley.
Apart from these mid-sizers, Hero is also trying to consolidate its position in the 200cc space and has a new model in the works. Why this is of utmost importance is that it will bring the Karizma moniker back in the market. Hero has showcased this model to its dealer partners and it will be called Karizma XMR (spy pics here). This also means that it is very close to production and probably launch.
Amidst all this, Karizma’s design patent pic has emerged that reveals the complete styling of the motorcycle. Hero is going the full-faired way with its new Karizma and frankly it looks real good (of whatever is visible till now). It is important that Hero makes a real good looking Karizma this time – specially since its 2014 debacle has left a bad taste for bikers.
The overall sporty stance is well accentuated by that full fairing, humped tank and a very sporty split seat set-up. It carries mid-set clip-on handlebars and an upswept exhaust to maintain that sporty stance.
Surprise – Data Reveals That Hero is STUCK in the 150-200cc Segment
The new Karizma will be Hero’s sportiest motorcycle in the lineup and will be the flagship model till the 400s arrive. It may carry a slightly bigger, near 210cc engine and should produce higher power output than the existing 200cc models.
We do not have a day or exact time frame when the new Karizma XMR will come but it is a given that the motorcycle is almost ready. Once launched, it will compete against the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and other models in this space.
