In a glittering ceremony in Dubai, TVS Motor has introduced its next electric 2-wheeler which is called as X. TVS X is a crossover between a motorcycle and scooter and definitely looks striking. It comes across as an extreme opposite of the current family scooter iQube that it sells.
X has a maximum power of 11 KW (15 PS), rated power of 7 KW (9.5 PS) and torque of 40 Nm. You can charge the X from 0 percent to 80 percent in 4 hours 30 minutes through the 950 watt charger. You also have the option of getting the rapid charger that will juice up half the battery in just 50 minutes.
TVS informs that the X is developed on ‘rider-first’ philosophy and claims a zero to 40 kph sprint in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 105 kph. The scoot, that has a very accessible 770 mm seat height, comes with three ride modes – Xtealth, Xtride and Xonic to further enhance the riding experience. The X also comes with multi-level re-gen modes.
Among key features, the TVS X gets telescopic front forks and an off-set rear monoshock, cruise control, ABS that works on the front wheel, reverse assist, keyless ride, anti-theft alarm, etc.
The crossover has a 10.2 inch TFT touchscreen display that has tons of connected features. Apart from allowing pairing your smartphone to the console and the related features therein, you can enjoy live video streaming, on board games and it also comes with a web browser. Aside that you can share your live location, and have the call and message service from the instrument console.

The X is available in a single, fully loaded variant and does not qualify for FAME subsidy. Additionally, the 950 watt charger is available at Rs 16,275 and a 3 kw rapid charger is also available as an option.
To create the initial interest, TVS will be offering a ‘First Edition’ badge on the X for the first 2000 customers. Along with that these first adopters will also be eligible for exclusive Concierge service and a Garmin smartwatch (which appears to be developed for the X) – at a payment of Rs 18,000.
The X is a global product and could be more impactful in the international markets. With this TVS has announced that it has special focus on the electric domain and the flagship X comes across as a very striking product.
