TVS Wins Green Energy Award

TVS Motor Company has grabbed the accolade of being the ‘Outstanding Renewable Energy User’ by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE). The automotive brand has been awarded Green Energy Award 2020 for the same.

At a recent event, the award was presented to TVS by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, and Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals, and Fertilizers.

IFGE has recognized the efforts of TVS Motor in researching and implementing the use of alternative power sources in the renewable energy domain while ensuring their longevity and stability.

India Green energy awards is an Initiative of IFGE. With this, it aims to recognize & highlight the importance of Green Energy for the future of humankind.

The Jury for the Green Energy Award consisted of experts from the green energy sector (nominated by relevant Ministries), Departments, Agencies, Industries, and Media Experts.

At TVS production facilities, the automaker has ensured to reduce power consumption by 15% and fuel consumption by 20% in recent years. Since 2013, TVS Motor has been working on various initiatives to drop the carbon footprint.

TVS incorporated Solar and Wind energy for its production facilities which lead to a reduction of 58,812 tons of emissions during the 2020-21.

TVS Motor Company has been doing its bit to implement various green initiatives across its production units based in India. These include facilitating zero discharge plants, rainwater recycling, and biodiversity conservation around its factories.
