TVS and what3word partnership is an interesting one as it is one of a kind for the Indian two wheeler market. Read on to know why…
On Monday, 20th of December, TVS announced their partnership with a London based company what3words to integrate their innovative location technology into their TVS Connect app. TVS says that all their customers can now share and navigate to any location using just three simple words.
what3words provides location precision and simplicity for customers, businesses and life-saving services. They claim a what3word address is a human-friendly way to share a very precise location with other people. Their system covers the whole world and works offline without requiring updates ever. They have partnerships with MErcedes-Benz, Triumph Motorcycles, Premier Inn, many emergency services and now with TVS Motor Company.
TVS explains – what3words system has divided the world into a grid of 3-metre squares and given each square a unique combination of three random words – which is known as a what3words address.
Stating an example – ///routine.ballpoint.snares – is the what3words address for TVS Motor Company’s HQ precise entrance in Chennai. By Integrating what3words into their TVS Connect app, they are facilitating their customers to navigate the world more efficiently and meet their friends and fellow riders in places without street addresses, such as scenic roadside viewpoints or community ride meeting points.
With this partnership, TVS Motor Company has become India’s first two-wheeler manufacturer to bring this unique addressing system to their customers.
