The naked street fighter range by Yamaha was recently expanded to include a small 150cc bike in Thailand, the M Slaz and you will be surprised to know that it is the sportiest of all the recent MTs we have seen. Here is a pictorial depiction of the naked MTs along with the M Slaz. These comparative images of the bikes were shared at Iwanbanaran.
The M Slaz looks more premium than the MT 25 thanks to the inclusion of that snazzy looking head lamp console and upside down front forks (the bigger MT25 gets regular front suspension). M Slaz’s elongated tank extensions along with adding sportiness, enhance the look of the motorcycle and it presents an appearance of a bigger sleeker 250 cc instead! The M Slaz’s 149.8 cc mill borrowed from the R15 produces 17 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.
The MT25 is the naked version of the R25 sold in ASEAN region and uses its 249cc twin cylinder engine whcih produces 36 PS of maximum power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. They also have a bigger MT-03 which looks similar and is coming to India early next year.
Now, check the new M Slaz against the biggest ‘MT’ sibling in the lineup – the MT-09 and surprisingly, the 150cc naked ends up looking aggressive and angrier of the lot, the lack of bulk in comparison notwithstanding!
Along with everything else that has been talked about, the M-Slaz uses funkier and brighter dual tone colors whereas the other two MTs get toned down non-flashy combinations.

The MT-09 uses an in-line three cylinder 847 cc mill producing 115 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. Yamaha has not spoken about their intents of bringing the M-Slaz to India yet, but we hope they do…
