STUDDS Opens Asia’s Largest Helmet Manufacturing Facility in Haryana

With the current push from the government for local production, STUDDS Accessories Ltd has opened a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Faridabad, Haryana.

This latest plant is spread across an area of over 5.5 acres and the company has made an initial investment of around Rs 160 crores. STUDDS, which claims to be the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheeler helmets by volumes, says that this is the biggest helmet manufacturing facility in Asia.

Apart from this, STUDDS has also commenced operations at another plant which has an in-house Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) production line – again India’s only such facility. This manufacturing plant is spread across 1.5 acres and has received an investment of Rs 40 crores.

The total investment in both of these plants stands at around Rs 200 crores and these new facilities will have a total production capacity of 7.5 million units of motorcycle helmets and 1.5 million bicycle helmets every year. They will provide direct employment to over 1500 people.

On this occasion, Mr Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, MD at STUDDS said that these new factories are a testament of the company’s commitment to Make in India. Operations in these facilities have just began and production will be ramped up gradually. He added that STUDDS has now doubled its production capacity from 7 million units to 14 million units.

With these new facilities, STUDDS will now have a total of four factories in India – all of them in Faridabad. STUDDS supplies helmets to over 40 countries and the company intends to introduce a new range of helmets in the market within this fiscal.
