Royal Enfield Scram 411 Discontinued in India – Details

The Scram 411 has been replaced by the recently launched Scram 440 in the Indian market

Royal Enfield announced the launch of the all-new Scram 440, a couple of days back, in a price range of Rs 2.08-2.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai) in the Indian market. Earlier, it was believed that Scram 440 will be sold alongside the Scram 411 in the domestic market. However, it appears that Royal Enfield has discontinued the Scram 411 as it is no longer present on the brand’s official website in India. The Scrambler bike debuted in March 2022 in our country and its life-cycle has come to an abrupt end in less than three years.

It was based on the Himalayan 411 which was phased out after the introduction of the Himalayan 450 last year. The scrambler model shared the same chassis and engine as the Himalayan 411, albeit with smaller wire-spoked wheels. The Scram 411 was never an out-and-out off-roader as the Himalayan, instead it was focused more on city rides.

The Scrambler motorcycle used to draw power from the 411 cc single-cylinder engine. It generates 24.3 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4.250 rpm while linked to a 5-speed transmission. The bike had no dearth of torque and even the throttle response was decent, but the riders missed the presence of a 6th gear during high-speed rides on the highways.

Royal Enfield took this issue seriously and addressed it in the recently launched Scram 440. The bike was presented with a bigger engine with more power and a 6-speed gearbox for better experience on the highways. In addition, it can be availed with wire-spoke wheels with tubed tyres and alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Just so you know, the 411cc scrambler was only on offer with wire-spoke tubed tyres.

The Scram 411 was sold at Rs 2.06 lakh (ex-showroom) and hence retailing it along with the Scram 440 made no sense absolutely due to the price difference of a mere Rs 2,000. Hence, Royal Enfield took the call and pulled the plug on the scrambler bike in our market.

Royal Enfield will launch the Classic 650 Twin in the coming months in the Indian market. It will also present the 2025 Hunter facelift, Bullet 650 and Himalayan 650 this year in the country. So, stay tuned to this page for all the updates from the world of Royal Enfield.
