TVS Motor Company has become India’s biggest electric two-wheeler brand by surpassing Ola Electric in cumulative sales volumes in the domestic market. As of Aug 24, the overall electric two-wheeler sales of TVS stands at 11,27,873 units as compared to 11,17,031 units sold by Ola Electric. This data has been fetched from Vahan portal. Ola Electric used to rule the electric two-wheeler segment in the initial years but since Apr 2025, TVS has occupied the topmost position by pushing the Bhavish Aggarwal-led company to fifth place.

By July 2026, Ola Electric was still ahead of TVS by around 16k units as its cummulative sales stood at 11,08,565 units as compared to 10,92,569 registrations on Vahan portal by TVS. However, the turnaround has been striking in the first 24 days of August where TVS sold 35,304 electric two-wheelers while Ola Electric could only manage 8,466 units. It helped TVS to narrow down the deficit and overtake Ola in terms of cummulative sales.

TVS has sold 3,42,958 electric scooters till Aug 24 in CY 2026 with a YoY growth of 75 percent. It has already surpassed the overall sales of CY 2025 whch was 3,15,081 units. This sensational growth is spearheaded by the iQube electric scooter which recently achieved the sales milestone of 1 million units. The e-scooter is available with multiple battery pack options in the domestic market.

Going by the present sales trend of 1,673 units a day, TVS is all set to touch the 5 lakh sales milestone in 2026.

As for Ola Electric, the company has been facing tough times for the last several months as sales volumes have dried down drastically. It had posted sales of 4,29,187 electric two-wheelers in 2024 with a market share of 35 percent. During this period, it became the first brand to cross the 4 lakh sales mark in a calendar year. However, things changed quickly in CY 2025 as retail volumes fell by 52 percent to 2,04,542 units.
