Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 Clear Pics Emerge, Reveal by Late 2025

The Himalayan 650, spotted during its durability tests with wire-spoke wheels, appears to be near production-ready and could debut at EICMA 2025 in Nov

Royal Enfield is working on the all-new Himalayan 650 and the motorcycle had been recently spotted testing in Southern Europe. Earlier this year, spy images of the upcoming Himalayan 650 emerged as it was undergoing test runs in India. However, these pics from Europe captured by MC News are the clearest yet. Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 is believed to be the brand’s most premium and expensive (around Rs 4 lakh) offering till date. The middleweight adventure bike could make its world premiere at the EICMA 2025 in Italy while launching by early 2026 in the Indian market.

The spy-shots reveal the test mule paired with an extra pair of sensors which indicates that it is going through the rigorous durability test. It also boasts of fully-adjustable inverted front forks but they are unlikely to make it to the production-ready version. The chassis appears to be re-engineered as the bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. We can also see the mono-shock suspension setup with linkage at the rear.

The braking duties are helmed by a dual-disc at front with Bybre calipers, which is something that has never been seen before on any Royal Enfield motorcycle till now. The Himalayan 650 is packed with a split-seat setup, in which the rider seat is well padded up and positioned lower as compared to the stepped pillion seat which is mounted a bit higher.

Mechanically, the Himalayan 650 will be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine which is already available with the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650 and Bear 650. This engine develops top power of 47 bhp and peak torque of 52 Nm while linked to a 6-speed transmission. The power and torque figures could be revised to enhance the adventure capabilities of the Himalayan 650 while engine remapping and gearbox recalibration are also on cards.

Meanwhile, some sections of the media are also portraying the spied test unit as Himalayan 750 with a bigger engine and increased power output. Recently, the Continental GT 750 was also spotted testing in India and the cafe-racer was expected to be the first model from RE to get the new 750cc engine. However, there is no official word from Royal Enfield on this.

Royal Enfield will have a fairly busy time in 2025 in India as it prepares to launch at least three new motorcycles in the domestic market. It will introduce the Classic 650 Twin, Scram 440 and Bullet 650. These will go on sale in a phased-wise manner in our country with the Classic 650 Twin launching first in January 2025.
