Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, S6 Spied Testing in Ladakh

While the Flying Flea C6 has been spotted multiple times earlier as well, the S6 has been spied testing for the first time on the Indian roads.

Royal Enfield has forayed into the electric motorcycle segment with the Flying Flea sub-brand. It showcased two all-electric bikes at the EICMA 2024 in the form of the Flying Flea C6 and Flying Flea S6. Recently, the duo was sighted in Ladakh with heavy camouflage, indicating that the high altitude cold weather testing of the electric motorcycles has begun. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 and Himalayan Electric were also spotted in Ladakh just a couple of days back along with the senior officials of the company, including the MD B Govindarajan.

It is not the first time that the Flying Flea C6 has been spied on camera during its test runs as images emerged on the web earlier too. However, the Flying Flea S6 has been captured on the lens for the very first time. The electric duo is based on a common platform which has been internally codenamed as L platform by Royal Enfield.

While the C6 is a neo-retro motorcycle, the S6 is a scrambler model with multiple different elements such as front fender, handlebar and instrument cluster. Yet another major point of difference between the two electric bikes is that C6 rides on alloy wheels with road-specific tyres at both ends whereas the S6 gets spoke wheels with off-road tyres.

Though battery and electric motor details are not available at the moment, we have learnt that the upcoming Royal Enfield electric motorcycles will boast of a fixed battery pack with fast charging compatibility. The range figures are not revealed as of now, but we expect the duo to return in the ballpark of 200-220 km on a full charge.

It was earlier reported that the Flying Flea C6 and S6 will deliver performance equivalent to a 350cc ICE-powered motorcycle. The Chennai-based two-wheeler brand has extensively used aluminium in both the motorcycles to keep them lightweight for catering the urban buyers. Upon arrival, the duo will directly rival Matter Aera, Ola Roadster X and Revolt RV400.

The exact launch timeline is not announced by RE but a few days back, B Govindarajan, MD of Royal Enfield, stated during an investors call that the C6 will go on sale before the end of FY26 (April 2026). It is likely that the S6 will hit the Indian roads by mid 2026, i.e. after 3-4 months of C6’s launch in India. We could see both the electric motorcycles in production-ready form at the EICMA 2025 in November.
