Royal Enfield Enters Indonesia; First Showroom Launched in Jakarta

At the ongoing Gaikindo International Auto Show (GIIAS), Royal Enfield announced their foray into the Indonesian market with its new dealership which is being set up in Jakarta, the capital of the country.

Indonesia is the World’s third largest two wheeler market and hence it makes for a very important playground for Royal Enfield, if it wants to make an international dent.

At the GIIAS, they showcased Bullet 500, Classic 500, Classic Chrome and their lone cafe racer – Continental GT hinting that they will begin their innings with these motorcycles. They also showcased their riding gear and the new Despatch Rider apparel and accessories.

The upcoming dealership in Jakarta is being set up in collaboration with PT Distributor Motor Indonesia who will also take care of sales and service for the region. The company says, they have plans to spread with more dealerships in other important cities.

Barely a few weeks back, Royal Enfield has taken direct control of their US market and has introduced a company-operated outlet bang in the home of Harley Davidson. The Indian manufacturer has set itself the great goal of leading the global mid-size motorcycle market and the strides which it is taking just point out at their seriousness!
