We talked about the Pulsar RS200’s specifications long back in October last year and the long awaited motorcycle is finally round the corner. The Turkish website of Bajaj Auto has officially listed the specifications of Pulsar 200RS and they read exactly what we have shared earlier.
The claimed ‘fastest Pulsar yet!’ will be powered by the same 199.5cc fuel injected triple spark mill which does duty on the naked 200NS. It produces 24.4 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Remember these are specs for the Turkey-specific RS200!
In comparison, the fuel injected 200NS in Turkey produces 24.47 PS of power and 18.3 Nm of torque. The carburetted Pulsar 200NS in India though produces 23.52 PS of power and 18.3 Nm of torque. Not confirmed but the new RS200 in India is also expected to be a fuel injected motorcycle.
The RS200, in terms of size is also bigger than the 200NS. It measures 2,060 mm in length, 750 mm in width and 1,160 mm in height. In comparison 200NS is 2,017 long, 804 mm wide and 1,075 mm high. The ground clearance falls down to 165 mm from 169 mm and the kerb weight has increased from 145 kg to 151 kg, majorly because of the fairing. Fuel tank capacity of RS200 is 12 liters (the Indian 200NS has a 12 litre fuel tank whereas the Turkish 200NS has a 14.3 litre fuel tank).
The bike gets 280 mm front and 230mm rear butterfly (petal) disc brakes. It comes shod with the same 110/80-17 tubeless tyres at the front and 130/70-17 tubeless at the rear.
It is being widely speculated that Bajaj will launch the RS200 in India sometime next month and there are two dates that are being talked about – 26th and 27th March. We have not received any word from the company yet and hope to hear from them soon…
