SPIED: Upcoming Bajaj Motorcycle Spotted Testing

Likely to be called as the new Pulsar N125 – this model may sit between the existing base Pulsar 125 and the sportier Pulsar NS125…

Bajaj Auto is working on multiple motorcycles and many of them have been spotted testing a few times. But if you see its line-up the biggest strategy that has worked for them in the recent times is moving the focus in the 125cc segment.

The lone (and potentially dangerous) decision of downgrading the Pulsar brand into the 125cc segment has worked wonders and the maker is now the second largest maker in this segment – ahead of even Hero MotoCorp – which was once the leader in this space. It (Bajaj) only trails Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.

The revolutionary Freedom CNG has also been introduced in this very space to further cement its position here. Next up, Bajaj is planning to sandwich another motorcycle in between, if we go by this latest spotting of a test mule that looks like a 125cc.

Pulsar n125

This is believed to be the Pulsar N125 – that can be placed between the base model Pulsar 125 and sportier Pulsar NS125. It has a slightly different design than the other Pulsar Ns. We see that there are large tank extensions with a flatter, slapped headlamp (that may or may not be an LED unit).

Further sportiness is accentuated by split seats, tail tidy, tyre hugger and a monoshock. The intentions are clear – Bajaj wants to offer the sportier Pulsar against the TVS Raider and the new Hero Xtreme 125R – both of which are doing very well in the market.

This may be more of a rival against the Raider – which is not extremely sporty and offers a good mix of sporty intents as well as commuterish comfort. The new Pulsar N125 looks close to production – and that suggests that we may be up for a festive launch.
