Ola Electric have announced the expansion of their footprint to our close neighbour – Nepal – by the end of 2022. This will be one of the 1st steps in their plan to expand to international markets with their electric scooters.
According to the media statement they released, they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CG Motors of Nepal, who will act as local distributors for Ola Electric. Ola have plans to introduce both S1 & S1 Pro electric scooters in the Nepal market by the end of the current year (2022).
After Nepal, Ola is aiming to launch their S1 range of Electric Scooters in Latin America (LATAM) countries, ASEAN and European Union (EU) countries. This will be their next phase of expansion in their objective of going global. Yet, as of now, the timeline for this is not shared by the company.
While speaking about Ola’s expansion plan, Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal (CEO, Ola Electric) shared that their company is committed to creating the electric vehicle paradigm for the rest of the world by building half of the vehicles that the world needs right in India.
In other news, Ola Electric have ventured into the Offline Retail Space with the establishment of 20 Ola Experience Centres across India, with 8 locations fully operational. The company plans to expand their Experience Store network to 200 established locations by March 2023.
