SPIED: Is Hero Testing New Xpulse 210 With Karizma Engine?

New Xpulse 210 with the Karizma engine is great news. We are looking at a 6 PS and 3 Nm gain for the very capable ADV…

An interesting sighting has come up on the internet. A full camouflaged test mule of what appears to be the Xpulse is making rounds. While the upper body is seemingly similar, there is an interesting change under the tank – the engine!

This definitely is not the 200cc motor of the current-gen. We tried to compare it with the bigger Xpulse that has been spotted earlier – this one looks different. Then we tried to compare it with the barebones prototype that Hero showcased, it is a mismatch!

However, when we compared it with the newly launched Karizma XMR – this looks very similar. So, that gives us the possibility that Hero may be planning a slightly bigger Xpulse with the more modern, liquid cooled, DOHC engine of the Karizma.

On the Karizma, this engine churns 25.5 PS of peak power at a high 9250 rpm and 20.4 Nm of max torque at 7250 rpm. The current Xpulse produces 19.1 PS of max power at 8500 rpm and 17.35 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. So, if this new Xpulse is indeed using Karizma’s motor, and if it churns similar outputs, the Xpulse will gain over 6 PS of power and nearly 3 Nm of torque.

Such massive gain sounds really interesting but Hero will have to get in 70-80 percent of these peak numbers from way down the rev range for the ADV application and I am sure Hero understands this.

Coming to the styling, it appears to be similar with an additional tank scoop to give it extra mass. I believe Hero will want to carry over the similar styling to the new Xpulse since it has been accepted very well in the market. More spyshots or other leaks will reveal other details and launch time frame of this new model – Xpulse 210!
