TVS has rolled out the new Victor, their executive commuter, in Maharashtra. Showcased first in January 2016 along with the new Apache 200, Victor will play in the executive commuter segment and will fight it out with Livo and others. It starts at Rs 49,188 well below the Rs 54,677 of Livo – both prices ex-showroom Pune.
New Victor gets power from a new 109.7 cc air cooled mill which produces 9.6 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. Mated to this is a 4 speed gearbox which helps deliver a claimed fuel efficiency of 76 kmpl.
The brand name Victor has been lucky for TVS and was first used by the Chennai based manufacturer on motorcycles produced in 2002. In fact back in the day it used to gross nearly 40,000 units a month!
The Victor gets a 5 step adjustable series spring suspension at the rear and a 175 mm ground clearance. For braking the standard variant gets drums all around. A front 240 mm petal disc version is also available. Another USP of the bike is the 55 watt head lamp, the brightest in the segment.
