Hero MotoCorp showcased the HX250R for the first time before the Auto Expo in 2014 which is when all the hell broke loose! Our internal sources told us that the company would be ready with the product by early 2015 but suddenly EBR, the tech-help of Hero went bankrupt, leaving the future uncertain.
A few days back, Hero bought the technological assets from EBR (report), before a company by the name Atlantis Metals Group purchased the ailing manufacturer completely. This paved the way for Hero to start launching their products which were developed with technical inputs from EBR. But unfortunately, there is no word on the HX250R yet.
A report at Economic Times says that Hero is planning to launch two new automatic scooters which will be their answer to the upcoming festive season fight with their erstwhile partner Honda’s segment leader Activa.
The company claims that these new scooters are based on new platforms which has been developed indigenously by the company. One of these is expected to be the 110 cc Dash which will sport the first non-Honda engine on a Hero two wheeler.
The second scooter that is expected to be launched is an upgraded version of the Maestro. This one though may get a bigger 125 cc motor, another first for Hero!
None of Hero’s plan is complete without a new/refreshed 100 cc motorcycle and it is the same here. The report goes on to say that Hero will launch a refreshed Splendor Pro, details of which we are least interested to know.. Now shall we talk big Hero?
