Things get real exciting from here on! Everyone in this country knows that the Next-Generation Pulsar 150 is coming and there were various reports which claimed different things. So, here we are with the technical specifications of the upcoming Pulsar 150NS, which will indeed be called as Pulsar 150NS and nothing else, at least in Turkey!
The Revealing Bits:
The new Pulsar 150NS carries a 4 valve single cylinder 149.5 cc engine which churns out a fabulous 17PS of power output, the highest in the 150cc motorcycle segment, barring the premium 150ccs! This is equivalent to the track machine, Yamaha R15!
Torque, however, is a little low at 13Nm and peaks at 7500 rpm. For comparison sake, the current Pulsar 150 produces 15.06ps of power and 12.5Nm of torque. Other changes which we can notice are – Reduced Petrol tank capacity of 12 liters (current Pulsar 150 has a 15 liters tank) and rear disc brakes (may be optional) which we have not seen in test mules snapped so far!
It also gets mono-shock absorbers and looks & design from the elder sibling Pulsar 200NS. The new Pulsar 150NS comes shod with 80/100 front and 100/90 rear tyre, both 17 inchers.
Dimensionwise, it is 2105mm long, 800mm wide and 1220mm high and has a wheelbase of 1363mm. This means the new Pulsar 150NS has gained in all dimensions and is a bigger overall motorcycle than the current P150. However, at 144kgs, it weighs exactly the same as the current Pulsar 150.
The prospects look interesting and 17 PS is music to ears! Please note these are specs for Pulsar 150NS for Turkey, however, considering other motorcycles which are already sold in both the countries (Turkey and India), specs would be similar, if not absolutely same! Bajaj is expected to launch it within the coming months, after Pulsar 200SS.
Will you still buy Gixxer…?
