New Kinetic E-Luna Design Leaked – Removable Battery, Higher Range

The upcoming Kinetic E-Luna could get a range of around 200 km on a single charge due to the introduction of an additional battery pack

Kinetic Green has filed a new design trademark for the upcoming Luna electric in the Indian market. The leaked trademark images reveal that it will be introduced with modern styling and removable battery packs. Though the exact launch timeline of Kinetic e Luna is not known yet, we expect the all-electric moped to launch in Oct 2025 around the festive season of Diwali in India. Just so you know, the company had launched the highly popular Luna in an all-electric avatar last year at Rs 69,990 (ex-showroom) in our country.

The electric two-wheeler manufacturer retails the E-Luna in a total of six variants namely X2, X3, X3 Go, X3 Plus, X3 Pro and X3 Prime. All these have a commonality in terms of battery positioning, which is placed under the rider’s seat as it is a detachable unit. All the variants of the E-Luna are presented with a flat floorboard as standard.

However, the leaked design patent portrays a different picture altogether as it shows the portable battery repositioned at the floorboard from under the rider’s seat. It could be the long-range variant of the existing E-Luna. Though aesthetically it is identical to the existing model, except for the huge box spotted between rider’s seat and handlebar which could house the additional battery.

Kinetic Green, led by Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, sells the E-Luna with a 2 kWh battery which returns a range of 110 km on a single charge. However, things could change drastically in favour of the company with the addition of a new battery pack and the E-Luna could touch 200 km range on a full charge. This additional battery will be removable in nature as that will allow the total charging time to be under 4 hours.

A few media reports claim that the upcoming model of E-Luna will be targeted at the B2B segment as the relocation of the battery pack to the floorboard would free the storage area under the rider’s seat and hence it can swallow a lot of belongings. Furthermore, the belongings will also be fully protected from rain, dust and heat under the rider’s seat.

Some of the notable features that are likely to be carried over to the upcoming E-Luna from the ongoing model could be 16-inch wheels, telescopic front suspension, front and rear drum brakes, 170 mm ground clearance, twin-shock rear absorbers and round headlamp in a square-shaped pod.
