Keeway MBP F125 Globally Unveiled At Intermot 2022

Just for context, the MBP line of motorcycles from Keeway mainly consists of premium offerings – the M502 N being the latest model unveiled earlier in the year.

Their latest offering has been showcased in the very accessible 125 cc segment, which also allows the company to target the western market as well as the Asian & South-Asian market simultaneously.

One glance at the sharp MBP F125 and you’ll understand why we are calling it the KTM 125 Duke rival. While there is no disputing the fact that the 125 Duke is sharp & athletic looking, yet, the new F125 has taken it up a notch.

The new naked in all sharp lines aggressive styling consisting of raised, minimalistic tail-section, compact & agile dimensions, modern suspension setup and strategically appealing body panels.

That’s not all, the MBP F125 is impressively light, lighter by 19 kg compared to the 125 Duke, weighing in at just 140 kg. This combined with a 124.9 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor putting out 15 HP and 10.85 Nm of torque, results in a better power-to-weight ratio than the KTM.

Do note that the torque numbers are lower than the 125 Duke making it slower when accelerating off the line or off the corner exit. But the lighter weight and compact size will make it more capable in the corners and inch out the rival in top speed.

The mechanicals are also premium – consisting of Gold colour-finished USD front forks combined with a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking hardware is also hefty for the segment, made of a 240 mm single-disc up front and a 220 mm unit at the rear.

Looking at how aggressively Keeway is bringing their offerings to our shores, the new F125 coming to our shores will not be too far. The 125 cc segment is a very accessible and sought-after segment in our country and premium offerings like the new Raider SmartXonnect are evolving the segment quickly and offering very enticing offerings to the customers.

Whenever the new Keeway MBP F125 enters India, it will offer and simultaneously face stiff competition from the strong contenders occupying this segment.
