Hero Karizma sales have consistently seen a drop in the last 3-4 months. The faired sportster fell to 600ish levels in the month of May…
Karizma was a legendary monikers and it actually gave us the taste of a big bike in the 4-stroke era. I am talking about the time when Honda was managing all the technicals of the motorcycle in partnership with Hero.
However, in 2014, Hero MotoCorp’s version of the Karizma twins failed badly. In fact, so much so that sales went into coma and Hero had to withdraw the motorcycle from the market. Flip to 2023 and Hero went back to action mode and introduced the all-new Karizma XMR – that was both – good-looking and powerful. And it was also priced fairly decently.
The motorcycle also started on a decent note with average sales of over 1300 units in the first 7-8 months of dispatches – with the highest number of 2128 units coming in in February 2024. But there seems to be a problem!
Sales have been continuously falling ever since and they hit the 663 units mark in the month of May 2024 – among the lowest for the motorcycle. Here are the numbers…
New Karizma Sales
February | 2128 units |
March | 1874 units |
April | 947 units |
May | 663 units |

As you can see, there has been a consistent fall in the number of units Hero has dispatched of its faired biggest in the last 3-4 months. This is surprising considering that the motorcycle is fairly new in the market and it also managed to build quite a lot of hype.
In comparison, rival KTM 200s have been doing sales of 2500-3000 units in all these months. What, according to you, is not working for the Karizma? Can it do well in the market or will it settle down at sub 1000 unit sales only?
